Tank Wars
Tank Wars puts you behind the controls of a tank while enemy vehicles work their way through brick walls toward your base. Play alone or defend it with a friend across 120 maps and four difficulty settings.
How to play Tank Wars
- One player: move with WASD or the arrow keys and press Space to fire in the direction you face. Tap again for each shot or burst; holding Space does not keep firing.
- Two players, Player 1: WASD to move and Space to fire.
- Two players, Player 2: arrow keys to move and Insert to fire, also available as numpad 0 with Num Lock off.
- Touch controls: use the on-screen direction and fire buttons.
- Clear 20 enemy tanks to finish a map, with an extra boss every tenth map. A single hit destroys your base, including a shot from your own tank, and ends the game regardless of your remaining lives.
- Enemy shots or contact with enemy tanks destroy an unshielded tank. You respawn while spare lives remain, but lose your weapon upgrades. Each map starts with three possible stars, and each tank lost removes one.
- Star-marked enemies drop bonuses. The star upgrades your tank, the gun gives you type 4 with steel-breaking shells, and 1UP adds a spare life. Other pickups include a shovel that rebuilds the base walls in steel, a protective shield, and a bomb that destroys the enemies currently on the field.
- The stopwatch slows enemies and stops them firing for 10 seconds. On maps with water, a snowflake pickup freezes it temporarily so you can cross. Enemy kills and collected bonuses add to your score.

Tip
- Leave the brick enclosure around your base intact. Open routes elsewhere, and turn away from the base before firing so your own shots do not expose or destroy it.
Tank Wars cheat codes
Click or tap your base during play to open the code panel. Enter five digits using its buttons: green with one dot means 1, yellow with two dots means 2, and red with three dots means 3. The code is checked automatically after the fifth press.
- 11131: toggle invulnerability for Player 1.
- 12131: toggle invulnerability for Player 2.
- 11211: give Player 1 a type 4 tank.
- 12211: give Player 2 a type 4 tank.
- 11331: set Player 1's spare lives to 99.
- 12331: set Player 2's spare lives to 99.
- 23133: destroy the enemies currently on the field. Enemies still waiting to spawn remain.
- 12232: create one random bonus.
- 21122: toggle steel protection around the base.
- 22132: toggle slower enemy movement. Despite the label ENEMY SLEEP, enemies can still fire.
- 33322: turn off invulnerability, enemy slowdown and steel protection, return surviving base walls to brick, and set both players' spare lives to 3. It does not undo type 4 upgrades.
Invulnerability protects the tank, not the base. Be careful with 33322: it can reduce your lives even if you never used the 99-life code.
