Air Warfare is an endless plane shooter flown over a river valley, with six kinds of enemy aircraft coming at you in waves and shooting back. Two things can bring you down and only one of them is the enemy: your health and your fuel both empty out, and the tank empties on its own whether or not anyone is shooting at you.

How to play Air Warfare

  • Fly with W, A, S, D or the arrow keys, or drag the plane with the mouse or a finger. Hold Space to fire.
  • Health only drops when an enemy shell hits you or you fly into an enemy plane. Nothing else touches it.
  • Fuel drains by itself from the moment you take off. Reaching zero ends the run exactly the same way as being shot down.
  • Bullets and rockets are counted on their own meters. You carry three types of rocket, and each has its own supply.
  • Supplies drift down the screen. First-aid kits refill health, fuel cans refill the tank, ammo boxes reload the guns, and rocket pickups switch you between the three rocket types.
  • There is no finish line and no level to reach. The battle keeps going, tougher enemies are worth more, and your top score is saved when you go down.

Tips

  • Chase fuel cans even when nothing is hurting you. A run that is going perfectly still has a clock on it, and a pilot who goes down on full health went down to the tank.
  • Break off to collect. Supplies fall on their own path and do not wait, so a pickup you ignore while lining up a kill is gone for good.
  • Shoot the planes that are lined up on you first. Enemy shells are the only thing that can take your health, so clearing the shooter is worth more than clearing the easy target beside it.

How long can you stay in the air?
