Until Dawn 2 Release Date, Preorder Bonuses and PC Status

Until Dawn 2 is scheduled for PS5 on January 28, 2027. Preorders are open. The US PlayStation Store lists Standard at $49.99 and Digital Deluxe at $59.99 as of September 12, 2026.

PC, physical copies and PlayStation Plus

PS5 is the only announced platform. There is no PC release date or PS4 version to order; the first game's PC release does not establish plans for this sequel.

A Standard disc edition is listed in PlayStation's Southeast Asia announcement; Deluxe is digital. Check physical preorder availability with a retailer serving your country, and make sure your PS5 has a compatible disc drive before choosing a disc.

The PlayStation Plus promotion on Sony's product page is for the Until Dawn remake, not Until Dawn 2.

Standard or Digital Deluxe: which should you buy?

Choose Standard for the story, or Digital Deluxe if you also want the costumes and death gallery. Here is what the higher edition adds:

• Y2K Neon Vibes Pack: neon outfits for all eight Dead True members.
• Diorama of Death: an unlockable gallery that lets you view fatal outcomes from different angles.

The extra $10 at US prices buys those costumes and the gallery; no extra chapter or early access is listed. Prices may vary by country and change over time; check the total at checkout.

What do you get for preordering?

Both editions get the same preorder extras for Dr. Hill, played by Peter Stormare. You do not need Deluxe to receive them:

• his classic Until Dawn outfit;
• an Akishima Island holiday outfit;
• Dr. Hill collector's bobbleheads to discover in-game.

The preorder decision is separate from the edition choice: Standard bought early gets the Dr. Hill extras; Deluxe bought later is not promised them. Sony calls them preorder-exclusive, with no later purchase option announced. If you prefer to wait for reviews, those outfits and collectibles are the announced trade-off. Redeeming them requires a PlayStation account and internet.

Do you need to play the first Until Dawn?

Firesprite says newcomers can start here. It describes the sequel as standalone, with AdHoc Studio collaborating on the story. Sony lists it as a single-player game.

You follow Dead True, a crew making fake ghost-hunting videos. A television deal takes them to Akishima Island and a resort abandoned in the 1970s, where the danger turns out to be real. The trailer also revisits Blackwood Sanatorium, giving returning players a connection to the first game.

What has been shown of the story choices?

Firesprite's trailer breakdown gives one example: Owen can follow a signal to find his missing friend Nate or cross a bridge toward a bar. The studio asks whether the detour could reveal useful clues or leave Nate in danger; it does not disclose the result. This shows the kind of decision you will face, not which option you should pick to save him.

Multiple endings are confirmed, but their number and the campaign length have not been announced.

Can you simplify quick-time events?

Sony lists simplified quick-time events and adjustable difficulty. These are useful options if timed button prompts are a concern. The listed accessibility features also cover:

• Controls: alternate presets and play without button holds, rapid presses, vibration or adaptive-trigger resistance.
• Visibility and audio: high-contrast visuals, color alternatives, large captions, mono audio and a screen reader.
• Interruptions: both gameplay and cinematics can be paused during offline play.

What changes on PS5 Pro?

Sony lists PSSR2 upscaling, higher-fidelity post-processing and advanced ray tracing for PS5 Pro. The standard PS5 feature list includes 4K visuals, fast loading, haptic feedback, adaptive triggers and touchpad interactions.

There is no published 60 FPS mode or native-resolution target in those descriptions. If performance will decide your purchase, wait for a mode breakdown rather than treating “4K visuals” as a frame-rate specification.

A compatible display is needed for 4K. For 3D audio, Sony lists TV speakers or analogue/USB stereo headphones, with setup required.
