Space Purge puts your ship between Earth and incoming asteroids and planets. Dodging keeps your ship intact, but you also need to shoot down anything heading past you toward Earth.

How to play Space Purge

  • Hold and drag the ship with your mouse or finger to move it. It fires to the right while you hold it, so line up vertically with incoming targets.
  • Your ship and Earth each start with three health points. A collision takes one from whichever is hit. The game ends if either runs out.
  • You start with 500 shots. Destroying asteroids and planets earns points toward the next level, where you receive ammunition based on how many you destroyed. There are ten levels; reaching 1,000,000 points wins.
  • Hearts restore one point of ship health, up to three. A blue shield protects the ship, then wears off after contact with an incoming object. It does not protect Earth.
  • Yellow rocket pickups change your weapon to one, two, or three lasers per volley, using that much ammunition. Green upgrades change the ship and make its lasers travel faster.

Destroy the closest threats first and release the ship between targets to conserve ammunition.

Tips

  • Target the objects closest to Earth before those just entering from the right. A healthy ship cannot save a round if Earth takes its last hit.
  • Release the ship when you have nothing lined up to shoot. Holding it through an empty stretch wastes ammunition, especially with a three-laser volley.
  • Stay to the left of objects you still need to destroy. Flying past them leaves them behind your right-facing guns.

Can you keep Earth safe all the way to a million points?
